Dali Oberon 9

The Dali Oberon 9 is a hi-fi floorstanding speaker designed for musical reproduction at home. It incorporates SMC technology patented by Dali, an innovation intended to reduce the non-linear magnetic distortion produced by the ferric core of the drivers' magnet.

The woofer/midrange driver relies on a wood fibre-reinforced paper pulp cone, mounted on a low-loss suspension and a die-cast aluminium basket. This combination aims for good rigidity while keeping moving mass low, which favours the driver's responsiveness across the entire signal transmitted by the amplifier. The reduction in mechanical distortion achieved through SMC in particular lowers third-order distortion, resulting in more natural midrange and detail perceptible even at low volume.

The crossover design and speaker engineering allow for wide sound dispersion. In practical terms, listeners do not need to sit strictly on-axis with the speakers or angle them towards their listening position to benefit from a consistent presentation: the frequency response extends from 35 Hz to 26 kHz, with a bass-reflex tuning at 31 Hz, and a sensitivity of 90.5 dB/w/m makes pairing with amplification of 50 to 400 watts straightforward.

This Oberon 9 is aimed at music enthusiasts wanting a floorstanding speaker that can fit into a living room without strict placement constraints, particularly in rooms where the sofa or armchairs are not perfectly centred facing the speakers.
