Description
The Rubicon 2C is a compact active speaker operating without audio cables thanks to its pairing with the Dali Sound Hub and the NPM2I module. This pack brings together the speakers, the connection hub and the receiver needed for a complete wireless installation, with no cabling between the sources and the speakers.
Each speaker houses dual Class D digital amplification of 250 W RMS per channel, paired with a Burr Brown PCM1796 DAC. The 2-way bass-reflex configuration combines a 16.5 cm woofer with a wood fibre cone using SMC technology and a 29 mm textile dome tweeter, with a crossover frequency set at 2,600 Hz. The frequency response spans from 46 Hz to 26 kHz, for a maximum sound level of 108 dB.
The wireless link relies on an HD audio receiver operating on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, with WiFi streaming at 24-bit / 96 kHz when the Dali Sound Hub is used. This direct connection between the units works independently of an active Wi-Fi network, which simplifies installation since only a mains power supply is needed for each speaker.
This pack is aimed at those wishing to install a high-performance hi-fi or home cinema system without running audio cables between the source and the speakers, for example in a living room where traditional cabling is impractical. The available power and dynamic handling suit both music listening and demanding soundtrack passages of a film.

What to check before buying used
The NPM2I receiver and the Sound Hub must operate together with the speakers: check that the three elements of the pack are genuinely original and pair correctly, as unpairing can sometimes be tricky to correct on a used unit. On the speakers themselves, inspect the suspension of the wood fibre woofer as well as the tweeter dome, which are prone to fingerprint marks and sagging with age. Checking the rear connectors and the power supply of each amplified unit is also recommended before any purchase.
