Description
The Dali Phantom H-80 is an in-wall/in-ceiling speaker designed for wall or ceiling installation, intended for audio systems that favour visual discretion without compromising on listening quality. It belongs to Dali's Phantom range, dedicated to in-wall/in-ceiling solutions and their accessories.
This speaker combines a centred 28 mm textile dome tweeter with a 200 mm woofer featuring a wood fibre cone. The crossover between the two ways is set at 2350 Hz. The mounting is of the Open Back type, a design with an open rear that influences acoustic integration depending on the volume available behind the installation point. The frequency response ranges from 46 to 25000 Hz, with a sensitivity of 90 dB and a nominal impedance of 6 Ohms. Maximum sound pressure reaches 109 dB, for a power handling of between 30 and 200 W.

What to check before buying used
The Open Back mounting exposes the rear of the woofer: check that the original fixing point corresponded to a suitable volume, otherwise the wood fibre cone may have worked abnormally. Visually inspect the suspension of the 200 mm driver (cracks, sagging) and the tweeter's textile dome (deformation, indentation), which can reveal unsuitable storage or use. Also check the condition of the cut-out grille and the mounting clamps, whose ageing can weaken their hold in a ceiling or wall.
