What to check before buying used
The midrange/woofer driver with wood fibre cone should be examined closely: look for any deformation, cracks or dents on the cone, as well as any sagging of the surrounding suspension. Also check the condition of the grille and frame, which are exposed to knocks when removing an in-wall installation.
