Description
The Courbet N°8 is a 3-way floorstanding speaker fitted with three dedicated drivers: a 28 mm soft dome tweeter, a 13 cm Kevlar midrange and a 21 cm carbon fibre woofer. It is the largest model in its range, designed to reproduce a signal across a wide frequency range in rooms of substantial size.
The Bass-Reflex loading with circular port completes the three-way architecture, with crossover frequencies set between 250 and 2500 Hz to divide the work between the three transducers. The stated bandwidth extends from 35 Hz to 25000 Hz at plus or minus 3 dB, reflecting extended frequency coverage, from deep bass through to extreme treble. The 92.5 dB efficiency allows a high sound level to be achieved with moderate electrical power, easing pairing with amplifiers of varying power output.

What to check before buying used
The carbon fibre woofer surrounds warrant careful visual inspection: look for cracking or sagging that could affect bass reproduction. The Kevlar midrange and soft dome tweeter should be free of tears or dents, signs of impact or power overload. Also check the cabinet finish (veneer, corners, bass-reflex port) and ensure there is no play or unwanted noise from the drivers at moderate volume.
