Description
The Delta 5.1 is a complete home cinema set by Davis Acoustics, combining five identical satellites and an active subwoofer. Designed and manufactured in France, this pack aims for coherent surround reproduction for both video and music, without requiring numerous complex adjustments.
Each satellite features a 2-way sealed-box design, with a 100 mm braided Kevlar woofer paired with a 25 mm fabric dome tweeter. This architecture delivers a sensitivity of 89 dB at 8 Ω and a frequency response of 150 Hz to 20 kHz: the satellites therefore cover the midrange and treble, while deep bass is handled by the subwoofer. The active subwoofer houses a 25 cm paper woofer driven by a 100 W amplifier (200 W dynamic), with a response from 40 to 160 Hz. It offers filtering adjustments over the 40-160 Hz range and phase adjustment between 0 and 180°, allowing the blend with the satellites to be fine-tuned according to room configuration.
This pack is aimed at those wishing to set up a compact and discreet 5.1 home cinema system, with small satellites that are easy to position around a screen, while retaining solid bass thanks to the active subwoofer. The gloss black finish and the supplied wall brackets and mounting plates make wall installation of the satellites straightforward, while two stands are also included with the pack.

What to check before buying used
Check the condition of the Kevlar woofer surrounds on all five satellites: sagging or tearing results in a dull or distorted midrange sound. Also inspect the fabric tweeter domes, which are prone to dents and scratches, as well as the black lacquer finish on the subwoofer and speakers, which is susceptible to micro-scratches. On the active subwoofer, test the filtering and phase controls to rule out any crackling potentiometers, and allow it to warm up for a few minutes to detect any power supply hum.
