Description
The Dufy Blanc is a 2-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker, designed and manufactured by Davis Acoustics. Compact in format, it can be installed on dedicated stands as well as on furniture, and aims for a natural rendering of the mid-bass in a small to medium-sized listening room.
The 13 cm mid-woofer with Kevlar cone is paired with a 25 mm fabric dome tweeter, the pair operating in a 2-way configuration with a crossover frequency set at 3,500 Hz. The frequency response extends from 50 Hz to 20 kHz. With a sensitivity of 90 dB and an impedance of 8 Ω (minimum 6 Ω), this speaker can be paired with moderate-power amplifiers. It accepts a power handling of 80 W RMS, with a possible peak of 110 W.

What to check before buying used
The surrounds of the mid-woofer driver deserve close inspection: the foam or fabric can harden or tear over time, which affects bass reproduction. Also check the condition of the tweeter dome, which is prone to accidental dents, as well as for any signs of moisture or impact on the bass-reflex port at the rear. Finally, inspect the white cabinet: yellowing, chips or cracks on the edges of the enclosure remain the most common defects on this type of light finish.
