Description
The Krypton 6 is a 3-way floorstanding speaker with bass reflex loading, designed for high-quality stereo listening without an additional subwoofer. It is intended for a classic hi-fi setup, in a compact format suited to rooms of 15 to 30 m².
The system relies on three separate drivers: a 28 mm fabric tweeter, a 13 cm Kevlar midrange and a 13 cm cellulose pulp woofer, with a crossover frequency between 400 and 4000 Hz. The frequency response extends from 45 to 24000 Hz (+/- 3 dB), for a wide reproduction from bass to treble. The impedance of 4 to 8 ohms and the sensitivity of 91 dB, combined with a nominal power of 100 W (150 W maximum), allow compatibility with a wide range of electronics, whether transistor, digital or valve. The laminar bass reflex port is placed on the front, which makes positioning the speaker easier while requiring sufficient clearance from the rear and side walls.

What to check before buying used
On this type of bass reflex speaker, the front laminar port is worth a visual check to ensure it is neither cracked nor obstructed. The suspensions of the cellulose pulp woofer and the Kevlar midrange should be supple, with no cracking or sagging, which would indicate ageing materials. It is also worth listening to each driver separately to detect any crackling or loss of output on the fabric tweeter.
