Dynaudio Emit 25C
Dynaudio centre speaker derived from the Emit 30, with Cerotar tweeter and MSP woofers, designed for home cinema systems combining several Emit speakers.
Description
The Emit 25C is a centre speaker designed by Dynaudio to occupy the key position in a surround sound system, the one through which most of a film's dialogue passes and often the centre of a multichannel mix. It shares the design of the Emit 30, arranged horizontally with the two mid-woofer drivers placed on either side of the tweeter, a choice that ensures tonal coherence with the other speakers in the Emit range (10, 20, 30 or 50) used as front or surround channels.
The two 140 mm woofers use an MSP cone, a composite material developed by Dynaudio combining lightness, rigidity and damping to reproduce the detail of the audio signal. Each cone is made in one piece with an integrated dust cap, and the visible ribs at the centre are bonded to the voice coil, allowing the whole mechanism to move uniformly. The 28 mm Cerotar tweeter combines a Ferrite+ magnet with Hexis technology, a combination also found on the other Emit speakers and on the Evoke range. The speaker accepts a power handling of 180 W (IEC), with an impedance of 4 ohms and a sensitivity of 87 dB, and a frequency response of 53 Hz to 25 kHz (± 3 dB).
This model is intended for those building or completing a home cinema setup already equipped with Dynaudio Emit speakers, and who are looking for a centre channel able to reproduce dialogue and central elements of a multichannel mix with clarity, without any tonal break from the main speakers.

What to check before buying used
On the MSP woofers, check for tears or sagging in the surround suspension and listen to the bass reproduction at high volume to detect any voice coil rubbing. Also examine the Cerotar tweeter dome, which is sensitive to fingerprints and small deformations. Finally, inspect the cabinet and finish (Black, White or Walnut) as well as the removable protective grille, which are often marked by transport or repeated wall mounting.
