Description
The Emit 50 II is a 3-way floorstanding speaker from Dynaudio, designed in a bass-reflex configuration with dual rear ports. It belongs to the Danish manufacturer's entry-level range, while incorporating certain design principles derived from the brand's higher-end series.
The column features two 18 cm woofers with MSP cones, each fitted with a 75 mm aluminium voice coil. A voice coil of this diameter has more windings, which improves the driver's control over dynamics and detail reproduction. A 15 cm midrange driver with an MSP cone is dedicated to this frequency band, while a 28 mm soft dome tweeter, fitted with a rear damping chamber, delivers precise treble. Crossover frequencies are set at 540 and 4400 Hz, frequency response spans 28 to 35,000 Hz (+/- 6 dB), with an efficiency of 86 dB and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. Power handling reaches 240 W.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, you should check the condition of the MSP cones on the three woofer and midrange drivers, in particular for any tearing, sagging or signs of moisture. The tweeter's soft dome also deserves close inspection, as this type of material can harden or deform over time. It is also recommended to listen to the speaker across the full frequency range to detect any unwanted noise from the bass-reflex ports or a detached suspension.
