Description
The Evoke 10 is a compact 2-way bookshelf speaker, loaded in bass-reflex configuration with a rear port. It fits into a stereo or home cinema setup as a main or supplementary speaker, in spaces where the footprint of a floorstanding speaker is not desired.
The Cerotar tweeter is a 28 mm soft dome with a precision coating, whose design derives from the Special Forty and Confidence series. It is paired with a new motor system combining strontium carbonate, ferrite and ceramic magnets, intended to improve driver sensitivity. The 140 mm woofer uses an MSP cone, a material developed in-house by Dynaudio, with a 38 mm aluminium voice coil and a Nomex suspension; this combination aims for extended frequency response and dynamic bass reproduction.
The stated frequency response ranges from 47 Hz to 23 kHz (+/-3 dB), with an impedance of 6 ohms and a sensitivity of 84 dB (2.83 V/1 m). Power handling is 180 watts IEC, allowing use with amplifiers of moderate to high power depending on the listening room.

What to check before buying used
On the 140 mm woofer, check that the Nomex suspension shows no cracking or separation from the cone, a sign of ageing that affects bass reproduction. The tweeter's Cerotar dome should be free of any deformation or dents, as this type of exposed component is easily knocked. Also check the rear bass-reflex port and the condition of the cabinet (corners, veneer) to rule out any sealing or finish defects.
