Dynaudio P4-C80

The Dynaudio Performance P4-C80 is a ceiling speaker designed to be built directly into a ceiling. This 2-way model can be installed either in a multichannel system intended for Dolby Atmos effects or in a conventional stereo setup, offering a discreet solution for diffusing sound without taking up any floor space.

The speaker pairs a 200 mm midrange/woofer driver with a magnesium silicate polymer cone with a 28 mm soft dome tweeter. This tweeter diameter, larger than on typical models, encourages broader sound dispersion within the room. The tweeter can be rotated through 360°, allowing the sound to be directed precisely towards the listening area even when the speaker is positioned off-centre. Its level can be adjusted across three positions, -3 dB, 0 dB and +3 dB, to fine-tune treble reproduction according to the room's acoustics or the listener's preferences.

In terms of performance, the P4-C80 offers a sensitivity of 89 dB SPL (2.8 V / 1 metre) and accepts a power handling of 50 W. Its frequency response spans from 42 Hz to 20 kHz ± 3 dB, with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms and a minimum impedance of 5 ohms. The required mounting depth is 90 mm, for a cut-out diameter of 260 mm.

This model is aimed at those wishing to incorporate discreet sound diffusion into a room dedicated to home cinema or music listening, particularly in configurations where installing floorstanding or stand-mounted speakers is not feasible. The supplied white metal grille can be painted to match the ceiling colour for complete visual integration.
