Description
The S4-C65 is a ceiling-mounted speaker designed for discreet installation, belonging to Dynaudio's Custom Architectural Studio range. It is intended for configurations where the speaker needs to disappear visually while retaining refined sound reproduction, typically as a complement to a home cinema installation or multiroom playback.
The 17 cm (6.5-inch) mid/bass woofer features a magnet system placed inside the voice coil, a configuration inherited from the brand's high-end drivers. The 28 mm soft dome tweeter, fitted with a precision coating, can pivot to direct the sound towards the desired listening area. Together they form a 2-way configuration with a low cut-off at 55 Hz and a high cut-off at 20 kHz (at +/- 3 dB), for an impedance of 8 Ohms and a sensitivity of 87.5 dB (@2.83V/1m). The maximum power handling reaches 125 W, with a nominal power of 50 W.
This model is aimed at those seeking discreet built-in sound, in a kitchen, living room or reception room, without a visible speaker on a stand or unit. The pivoting tweeter and the ability to rotate the speaker 360 degrees within its mounting frame allow the sound dispersion to be adjusted according to the layout of the room.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is advisable to check the condition of the mid/bass woofer and the soft dome tweeter, which are sensitive to impact or deformation over time, as well as the proper functioning of the tweeter's pivot mechanism and the mounting frame, which ensures correct sound direction once the speaker is installed in the ceiling. A check of the crossover and internal connections is also recommended before reinstallation.
