Check the presence and condition of the sand or filler weight if the column is designed to be loaded, a point that affects stability and vibration damping. Check that the floor coupling spikes and pads are all present, not bent, and still screw in correctly, as well as the tightness of the top plate that holds the speaker. Examine the aluminium for knocks, deep scratches or signs of oxidation, particularly on the columns and bases.
