Description
The Sub 3 is an active subwoofer from the Danish brand Dynaudio, designed to complement a stereo or home cinema system by providing the bass extension that main speakers cannot always deliver on their own. It is the most compact model in the brand's high-performance subwoofer range.
Its built-in amplifier delivers 300 watts RMS, paired with a 24 cm driver housed in a compact cabinet measuring 266 x 276 x 336 mm and weighing 10.5 kg. This compactness makes placement in a room easier, including in spaces where a larger subwoofer would be difficult to accommodate. The frequency response spans from 22 Hz to 175 Hz, a range covering the lowest perceptible frequencies through to the crossover zone with the main speakers.

What to check before buying used
The amplified bass port must be free of cracks or deformation, as the original foam can sometimes become fragile over time. Check that the built-in amplifier settles without audible hiss or hum both on standby and in operation, and test the level and crossover control dials to rule out any crackling caused by a dirty potentiometer. It is also worth checking the input connections (RCA/LFE) and the mains cable, as these are the first parts to suffer from heavy use.
