Description
The Dynaudio Xeo 6 is an active two-way floorstanding speaker, designed by the Danish manufacturer to operate without an external amplifier or cabling between the source and the speakers. Each column houses its own amplification and receives the audio signal via a dedicated radiofrequency link, from the Xeo Hub transmitter supplied with the set, to which the sources are connected.
The integrated amplification totals 3 × 50 W per speaker, split between the tweeter and the two midrange-woofer drivers, allowing each transducer to be driven independently rather than through a single shared stage. The 27 mm soft dome tweeter is paired with two 140 mm MSP drivers, with crossover frequencies set at 600 Hz and 28 kHz. The frequency response extends from 31 Hz to 23 kHz, and the signal passes through a 16-bit / 48 kHz digital converter before amplification.
This system is aimed at a user seeking a compact stereo installation, without a separate amplifier or speaker cables to run across the room, while retaining a floorstanding format capable of covering relatively extended bass thanks to its two midrange-woofer drivers per channel.

What to check before buying used
The radio link with the Xeo Hub should be tested across the full range of sources: a faulty pairing or a non-functioning transmitter deprives both columns of signal. The MSP drivers and tweeter, each driven by their own 50 W stage, should remain free of distortion or background noise at low volume, which would indicate a worn electronic component. Also check the condition of the cabinet and protective grilles, as well as the presence and correct operation of the power supply unit and the interconnection cable between the two speakers.
