Description
The C-Dur is a belt-drive turntable from EAT, available in satin black or gloss plum finish, with a hinged transparent lid and record clamp. It can optionally be fitted with the EAT Jo N°5 MC cartridge.
The 5.2 kg platter, driven by a 0.9 kg sub-platter, rests on a solid MDF base, a choice that favours inertia to stabilise playback. The 1.8 kg bearing assembly combines a polished stainless steel spindle, a ceramic ball and a Teflon plate acting as a bearing mirror, an assembly designed for smooth, quiet movement. The 254 mm (10'') C-Note tonearm combines a rigid, lightweight carbon-fibre tube with an aluminium headshell; an internal silicone grease damps arm and cartridge resonances by more than 50%. The very low-noise motor is isolated within a steel ring mounted on the chassis and powered by an external DC power supply, transmission to the aluminium sub-platter being via an anti-static polished rubber belt. The feet incorporate a TPE insert that isolates the turntable from its support to limit acoustic feedback.
The C-Dur is aimed at vinyl enthusiasts seeking a high-end turntable, able to accommodate cartridges from 5 to 13 g thanks to its adjustable counterweight, and wanting a stable base with low sensitivity to vibration for a demanding setup.

What to check before buying used
On a belt-drive turntable like the C-Dur, the rubber belt deserves a priority check: loss of elasticity or cracking results in speed variations. The bearing assembly and its ceramic ball should turn without play or unusual noise, a sign of good lubrication over time. If the unit is sold with the EAT Jo N°5 MC cartridge, check the condition of the stylus and the alignment of the C-Note arm, whose tracking force setting directly affects playback quality.
