Description
The SUB 2030 is a sealed subwoofer from ELAC, intended to reinforce the bass register of a hi-fi or home cinema system. Its closed cabinet design, as opposed to a bass-reflex enclosure, favours tight, fast bass reproduction rather than maximum sound level.
It features a 25 cm woofer, a size that explains its purpose: producing deep bass frequencies while maintaining good control over time, with the sealed enclosure limiting the resonances and overhang typical of certain open cabinets.

Also check the suspension of the 25 cm woofer for sagging or tearing, as well as the condition of the cabinet and the anti-vibration feet. A test at moderate volume will help detect any unwanted noise or rubbing of the cone within its housing.
