Description
The ECI-6 MKII is a stereo integrated amplifier from Electrocompaniet, designed to drive a pair of speakers directly without any additional electronics. It combines preamplification and power stage within a single chassis, with four analogue inputs available for connecting multiple sources.

What to check before buying used
On an integrated amplifier of this power output, check for the absence of hum or hiss at idle and for the clean operation of the protection relays at switch-on. Test each RCA input as well as the XLR input and the preamplifier output to rule out any oxidised or faulty contacts on the potentiometers and selectors. Checking the temperature of the heatsinks after extended listening also helps identify any premature ageing of the power stage capacitors.
