Description
The Elipson IC6 100V is a recessed speaker designed to integrate into a false ceiling. It is intended for sound coverage in large spaces such as offices, shopping centres or schools, with an installation that remains invisible once fitted.
This speaker stands out for its dual electrical compatibility. In 100-volt mode, it allows the speaker to be wired over long distances without signal loss, and its power can be adjusted to 15 W, 8 W, 4 W or 2 W depending on the needs of the room. In 8-ohm mode, it connects to a conventional hi-fi or home cinema amplifier and accepts up to 100 watts. It features a 16 cm midrange-woofer with a paper cone and rubber surround, paired with a 25 mm silk dome tweeter that can be tilted 35° in any direction, allowing the sound dispersion to be aimed towards the desired listening area. Frequency response ranges from 70 Hz to 20 kHz, with a sensitivity of 87 dB/1 W/1 m and a crossover frequency of 3200 Hz.

What to check before buying used
The 35° tiltable tweeter relies on a mechanical ball joint that can stiffen or develop play over time: check that the orientation holds without forcing it. On this type of ceiling speaker, also inspect the grille and the recessed mounting frame, whose metal mounting clips can wear out or bend when removed. Be sure to test the 100 V power selector (15/8/4/2 W), a switch sometimes prone to contact oxidation after long installation in a false ceiling.
