Description
The Architect IC6 is a round in-ceiling speaker, designed by Elipson to blend discreetly into a room. It belongs to the Architect In series and combines a woofer and a tweeter on the same axis, a coaxial configuration aimed at consistent sound diffusion regardless of where one stands in the room.
The woofer uses a 165 mm paper cone with a rubber surround, while the 25 mm silk dome tweeter can be angled from 35 to 40° in any direction to adjust sound dispersion towards the listening area. The crossover frequency is set at 2950 Hz, dividing the work between the two drivers. With a frequency response of 70 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), a sensitivity of 87 dB / 1W / 1m and an impedance of 8 Ohms, it accepts an amplifier with a recommended power of 100 W.

What to check before buying used
The silk dome tweeter pivots the stated 35 to 40°: check that the mechanism still turns freely and is not blocked by dust or a previous impact. On the woofer's paper cone, inspect the rubber surround for cracks, hardening or detachment, signs of ageing that affect bass reproduction. Also check the Ø200 mm cutout grille and the mounting frame, which are often marked during removal.
