Description
The Infinite 14 is a 2-way in-wall/in-ceiling speaker from Elipson, designed to disappear into a wall or ceiling while providing even sound dispersion. Its sealed-enclosure design allows it to function as a main, centre, surround or ceiling speaker in a home cinema system, including for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats.
The chassis relies on two 17 cm woofers in Rohacell and carbon paired with a 29 mm ring tweeter. The frequency response spans from 60 Hz to 30 kHz, with a sensitivity of 91 dB/W/m that makes it easier to achieve a comfortable sound level without requiring an oversized amplifier. The 8 ohm impedance, with a minimum of 4 ohms, and a power handling of 150 W (300 W peak) place this speaker within everyday residential use.
The Infinite 14's form factor is particularly slim: the enclosure depth is 125 mm (138 mm with the grille) and the required mounting depth is only 112 mm, for cut-out dimensions of 310 x 900 mm. This compact depth allows installation in a wall or ceiling without significantly encroaching on living space.
This model is aimed at multichannel home cinema installations, particularly where architectural integration is a priority: dedicated room, discreet home cinema or playback through an acoustically transparent projection screen. It is intended to be paired with the Infinite S12 subwoofer from the same range, as well as the Infinite 8, to form a coherent in-wall/in-ceiling set.

What to check before buying used
On an in-wall speaker of this format, the internal sealed-enclosure cabinetry must remain perfectly airtight: a detached seal or a crack in the enclosure will degrade the performance of the two Rohacell and carbon woofers. The condition of the woofer suspensions and the ring tweeter dome should be checked, as these are sensitive to impact during removal. The magnetic grille warrants a check of its appearance and fit, while the internal wiring and connection terminals should be examined to rule out any crackling or loss of channel.
