The Infinite 8 is a 2-way in-wall/in-ceiling speaker from Elipson, designed to blend discreetly into a wall or ceiling. It is aimed at home cinema installations and can be used as a main, centre, surround or ceiling speaker, particularly for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X listening. It is intended to be paired with the Elipson Infinite S12 subwoofer to complete the low end.
This speaker is built around a sealed-box 2-way architecture, combining a 17 cm woofer in Rohacell and carbon with a 29 mm ring tweeter. It handles a power of 100 W (200 W peak) and offers a frequency response of 75 Hz to 30 kHz, with a sensitivity of 88 dB/W/m and an impedance of 8 ohms (4 ohms minimum). Its 112 mm installation depth and 280 x 420 mm cut-out dimensions allow installation in a partition wall or even behind an acoustically transparent projection screen.

What to check before buying used
On this in-wall/in-ceiling model, the hidden cabinet means the metal frame and magnetic grille should be checked, as these are often marked when removed. The suspensions of the 17 cm woofer and the ring tweeter's dome, exposed during handling, warrant a visual inspection to rule out any sagging or deformation. As a sealed-box design cannot tolerate any air leak, the airtightness of the chassis and the fixing of the clamping tabs should also be examined before reinstallation.
