Description
The Elipson Infinite IW8 is a speaker designed to be recessed into a wall, intended for sound diffusion without any visible speakers in the room. It is aimed at home cinema installations as well as music listening systems seeking discreet integration.
The midrange/woofer driver measures 200 mm and combines carbon fibre with PMI foam, a combination intended to preserve the rigidity of the cone while limiting its weight, in order to reproduce bass with precision and without distortion. The tweeter, a 25 mm titanium dome, handles the treble and can be adjusted up to 35° in any direction, allowing the dispersion axis to be adjusted according to the layout of the room and the listening position.
The frequency response extends from 45 Hz to 30 kHz (± 3 dB), with a crossover frequency set at 3,300 Hz between the midrange/woofer and the tweeter. Sensitivity is 88 dB / 1 W / 1 m for an impedance of 8 Ω, and the speaker accepts a power of 130 W.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is worth checking the condition of the carbon fibre midrange/woofer cone, which may show deformation or impact marks if the speaker was handled before installation. The tweeter's adjustment mechanism should also be tested to ensure it pivots freely across the stated 35°, without play or sticking. Finally, the finishing grille and the recessed mounting frame should be inspected for cracks or deformation at the fixing points.
