Description
The Elipson Planet L is a spherical-shelled bookshelf speaker, built around a coaxial driver combining a 16.5 cm paper woofer with a soft dome tweeter placed at its centre. This single point-source configuration aims to align the origin of the bass, midrange and treble frequencies for a coherent sound image.
The spherical shape of the shell, with a diameter of 290 mm, limits the formation of standing waves inside the cabinet and promotes even sound diffusion throughout the room. A port placed at the rear complements the design to support the bass register. The frequency response extends from 48 Hz to 20 kHz (± 3 dB), with a sensitivity of 90 dB and a nominal impedance of 6 Ω, for a recommended power of between 30 and 80 W.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is worth checking the condition of the paper cone of the coaxial driver as well as the dome of the central tweeter, which is particularly exposed due to its flush-mounted position. The rear port also deserves a visual check, as does the integrity of the spherical shell, whose specific shape makes it more sensitive to impacts or cracks than conventional cabinets with right angles.
