Description
The Elipson Rain 8 100V is a floorstanding speaker intended for outdoor installation, on a terrace, in a garden or a conservatory. It combines a 25 mm silk dome tweeter with a 200 mm polypropylene cone midrange/woofer driver, covering a frequency range from 70 Hz to 20 kHz.
Its design incorporates IP66 protection against splashes as well as UV resistance. It is rated to operate within a temperature range of -25°C to +70°C, with humidity tolerance of up to 95% at -40°C. A 180° adjustable mounting bracket allows the dispersion angle to be adjusted according to the layout of the location.
In standard connection under 8 ohms, it accepts a power of 150 watts for a sensitivity of 90 dB. It is also compatible with 100V and 70V distribution systems, allowing installation over long cable runs without signal degradation. Power can then be set across several levels: 6.25 W, 12.5 W, 25 W or 50 W in 100V mode, and 3.12 W, 6.25 W, 12.5 W or 25 W in 70V mode.
This model is aimed at outdoor sound installations requiring several speakers distributed over a large area, such as a garden, an extensive terrace or an open-air dining space, where 100V/70V multi-point sound distribution makes deployment easier.

What to check before buying used
On an outdoor speaker of this type, the sealing of the connection compartment deserves careful checking: seals and cable glands harden with UV exposure and freeze/thaw cycles and lose their IP66 sealing capability. The suspension of the 200 mm driver and the tweeter dome should also be examined, as they can stiffen or crack after prolonged exposure to sun and temperature variations. Checking the adjustable mounting bracket is recommended, as its pivot mechanism can seize up or develop play after extended outdoor installation.
