Description
The Sonos Era 100 is a compact connected speaker designed for wireless audio streaming within a multiroom setup. It connects via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, and integrates into a Sonos system comprising other speakers distributed across multiple rooms.
The speaker features a midrange/woofer driver claimed to be 25% larger than that of the Sonos One, paired with dual-angled tweeters designed to deliver stereo sound. Waveguides are built in to widen the soundstage, while amplification relies on Class D amplifiers. An auxiliary input is also available via a dedicated Jack adapter, allowing an external source such as a turntable to be connected.
Control is via a touch interface on the speaker, or by voice command thanks to compatibility with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Sonos Voice. AirPlay 2 compatibility allows streaming from an Apple device. Two Era 100 speakers can be paired in the same room for stereo playback, or used as rear channels in a home cinema setup.
This model is aimed at a user wishing to equip a room with a versatile connected speaker, either standalone or integrated into a Sonos multiroom system, with touch or voice control.
