What to check before buying used
The Mylar diaphragm and its tensioning frame must remain intact: a slackened or perforated membrane causes distortion or audible hiss, particularly in the treble. Check the operation of the built-in high-voltage power supply, whose capacitors can age and weaken sound level or dynamics.
