Description
The EH-LS11000W is a 4K PRO-UHD laser projector from Epson, designed to recreate a big-screen experience at home. It uses a laser light source and supports HDR10+, with a native 16:9 resolution and colour reproduction of up to 1.07 billion colours.
Its dynamic contrast ratio reaches 2,500,000:1, delivering deep blacks and pronounced detail in both dark scenes and very bright areas. Colour brightness and white light output are both rated at 2500 lumens, a level suited to installation in a dedicated room where ambient light is controlled. Five colour modes (Dynamic, Natural, Cinema, Bright Cinema, Vivid) allow the rendering to be adapted according to the content being watched.
On the optical side, the motorised zoom of 1 to 2.1x and the motorised lens shift (± 96.3% vertical, ± 47.1% horizontal) allow flexible positioning of the projector relative to the screen, without needing to align the unit on a perfect axis. The throw ratio ranges from 1.35 to 2.84:1, for images from 50 to 300 inches diagonal, with a projection distance between 1.5 m and 19 m depending on the desired size. Ten lens position memories make it easy to switch between aspect ratios, useful for 2.35:1 screens, for example. Noise level remains low, from 22 dB in eco mode to 30 dB in normal mode.
This projector is aimed at home cinema enthusiasts looking for a large image in a dedicated room or a darkened living room, with the installation flexibility provided by the motorised zoom and lens shift. What to check before buying used
When buying second-hand, it is worth checking the condition of the laser light source, whose extended lifespan remains one of the model's strengths, as well as the correct operation of the motorised zoom and lens shift, which are used with every adjustment. A check of image uniformity and the absence of any spot or dust on the optical path is also recommended, as is testing the various HDMI inputs and the keystone correction function.
