Epson EH-LS12000B

The EH-LS12000B is a 4K PRO-UHD laser projector from Epson, designed for large-format projection in a home cinema environment. It delivers a 4K PRO-UHD resolution image in native 16:9 format, with claimed colour reproduction of up to 1.07 billion colours and five image modes (Dynamic, Natural, Cinema, Bright Cinema, Vivid) allowing the rendering to be adjusted according to the source and the room's ambient light.

Its colour brightness and white light output both reach 2700 lumens, a level that allows projection onto large surfaces without sacrificing image clarity. The dynamic contrast ratio, rated at 2,500,000:1, enhances black depth and the richness of shading, an advantage for dark scenes or content with a wide dynamic range. The optical unit is fully motorised: zoom from 1 to 2.1x, vertical lens shift of ± 96.3% and horizontal lens shift of ± 47.1%, with up to 10 position memories allowing a preset framing to be recalled instantly. Manual keystone correction, vertical and horizontal, reaches ± 30° to fine-tune image alignment when the installation does not allow perfectly axial positioning.

The projection distance ranges from 1.5 m to 19 m, for an image size between 50 and 300 inches diagonal (1.2 m to 11.5 m). As a reference point, a 100-inch image (2.54 m diagonal) is achieved at a distance of 3 m to 6.4 m depending on the zoom setting. The projection ratio ranges from 1.35 to 2.84:1 and the focal length from 22.5 mm to 46.7 mm, offering genuine installation flexibility in rooms of varying sizes.

This projector is intended for dedicated home cinema use, in a room that can be partially or fully darkened, where the large image diagonal and rich contrast will be fully exploited. The flexibility of the motorised zoom and lens shift makes it easier to integrate into an already equipped room, without requiring perfectly centred positioning in front of the screen.
