Description
The Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2 brings together a network source and a digital-to-analogue converter within a single chassis. It plays locally stored files as well as streams from online services, and can feed a power amplifier or active speakers directly via its analogue outputs. Control is handled from a 6-inch touchscreen LCD built into the front panel, which displays playback information and provides access to settings without going through a computer.
The conversion stage relies on two ES9038Q2M chips, each dedicated to one channel, paired with an XMOS XU316 audio processor that supports native DSD512 and PCM up to 768 kHz at 32 bits, as well as MQA. The output stage is fully balanced from decoding through to the sockets, with XLR and RCA connections, while a linear power supply rated at under 40 µV of noise feeds the audio section. Operational amplification is handled by OPA1612 chips. Everything sits within a CNC-machined aluminium chassis, which limits external interference.

This model is aimed at listeners wishing to centralise their digital music on a single device, without stacking a streamer, external DAC and storage drive. What to check before buying used
Check the touchscreen point by point: it is the most heavily used part of the unit, and a lack of responsiveness in one corner of the display hampers all navigation. Verify that the dual-band Wi-Fi connects on both frequencies and that Bluetooth pairs correctly, then test the XLR and RCA outputs in turn to rule out a silent channel. If an M.2 SSD is already installed in the expansion bay, ask about its health status and actual capacity. Finally, make sure the firmware can still be updated, as the built-in streaming services change regularly.
