Description
The Ever Solo Play is a connected integrated amplifier that combines a classic power section with a full network streaming module. It acts as the heart of a system, capable of receiving digital streams via DLNA or USB, driving speakers directly without intermediary electronics, and bringing together sources as varied as a television, a turntable or an external hard drive on a single unit.
Its amplification section delivers 60 W RMS into 8 ohms and 110 W RMS into 4 ohms, with a gain of 20.8 dB. Total harmonic distortion remains below 0.0037% across the 20 Hz-20 kHz band, and the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 109 dB, two indicators reflecting clean, uncoloured sound reproduction. Channel separation reaches 108 dB, ensuring good stereo image definition. On the digital-to-analogue conversion side, the DLNA and USB input accepts files up to 32-bit/768 kHz as well as native DSD512, while the optical and coaxial inputs go up to 24-bit/192 kHz and DSD64, and the HDMI ARC input up to 24-bit/192 kHz.
The connectivity covers a wide range of uses: two USB-A ports for playback from a storage device, an HDMI ARC input to pick up sound from a television, an RCA line input for a classic analogue source and a phono input for connecting a turntable directly. On the output side, a dedicated subwoofer connector and a coaxial output for an external DAC complete the set. Control is via a 5.5-inch touchscreen built into the front panel, displaying album artwork, resolution of the files being played or needle-style level meters, or remotely via the dedicated app for iOS and Android.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is worth checking that the touchscreen works properly, its responsiveness and the absence of dead pixels or wear marks on the panel. It is useful to test each input, particularly the phono and HDMI ARC, as well as the network connection and streaming protocols (DLNA, USB) to ensure they work without interruption. Checking the amplification section, with a power test into 8 and 4 ohm loads if possible, also helps rule out any doubt about the condition of the internal components.
