Description
The Luna Mini is a single-ended class A valve integrated amplifier. It pairs two EL34 output tubes with 12AX7 driver tubes to deliver 10 W per channel, intended for pure amplification listening without an intermediate digital processing stage.
The single-ended topology limits the number of active components the signal passes through, which results in a direct rendering of midrange sound, sensitive to the nature of the associated speakers and source. Bandwidth extends from 16 Hz to 130 kHz, with total harmonic distortion below 2.5% at full power at 1 kHz and a signal-to-noise ratio of -84 dB. The damping factor above 10 and the recommended speaker impedance of 4 to 8 Ω point towards speakers of suitable sensitivity for a modest output power.
The amplifier features three RCA inputs, a subwoofer output and a single expansion slot allowing a DAC, phono or Bluetooth module to be added to extend functionality without changing units. An infrared remote control and a tube protection grille are supplied with the unit.

What to check before buying used
On a valve amplifier of this type, the ageing of the EL34 and 12AX7 tubes directly affects the sound: a mismatched or worn pair results in a loss of dynamics, hum or increased distortion at the top of the range. As class A places heavy continuous demand on components, it is worth checking the condition of the capacitors and the volume potentiometer, which may crackle after several years of use. The protection grille must be present to prevent any accidental contact with the tubes during operation.
