Description

What to check before buying used
The conical pin must slide freely: a seized thread or a conductive tip already excessively expanded indicates a plug that has been disassembled too often, with a risk of intermittent contact on the female terminal. Check the condition of the two pressure screws if the cable was connected by screwing, and the appearance of the solder joint if this method was used, looking for cracks or a cold joint. Finally, examine the 24 carat gold plating: any scratch marks or localised tarnishing exposes the underlying brass to oxidation.
