Finite elemente Ceraball

The Ceraball is an anti-vibration support designed by Finite Elemente to be placed between an audio component and the shelf or piece of furniture supporting it. It represents the entry point into the manufacturer's Cera family, that is, the most accessible variant of a range entirely dedicated to the mechanical treatment of vibrations.

This model corresponds to the second generation of the Ceraball. It is distinguished by a screw-fixing function: rather than simply being placed under the chassis, the support can be attached directly to the component when the latter has a threaded fitting on its underside. The connection between the electronics and its support then becomes fixed, which prevents any accidental movement and makes the setup reproducible from one installation to another.

Finite Elemente specifies two configurations depending on the mass to be supported. The choice is therefore made according to the weight of the component concerned:

A set of three supports provides isostatic support, with no dead point, particularly suited to chassis whose underside is not perfectly flat. The set of four follows the original layout of most components and distributes the load more evenly, which suits heavier items or larger-footprint enclosures. The stated values relate to the pack as a whole: they should be compared against the total weight of the component placed on top.

These supports are aimed at listeners who have already stabilised their setup and are looking to work on the mechanical coupling of their sources and electronics. They find their place under a player, a converter, a preamplifier or an amplifier, within the load limits indicated. As the entry-level model in the Cera family, they also allow one to experiment with the decoupling approach before considering more elaborate solutions.
