The Cerabase Compact is an anti-vibration decoupling support from Finite Elemente, designed to isolate an electronic component or speaker from mechanical vibrations transmitted through the floor or supporting furniture. It is positioned as a reduced version of the classic model in the Cerabase range.
Its main characteristic lies in its reduced dimensions compared with the classic model. This more compact format widens the range of possible installations, particularly when the space available beneath a component or on a shelf is limited, while aiming for sound quality close to that achieved with the standard model.
The Cerabase Compact is available in two configurations depending on the load to be supported: a pack of 3 feet for a load of up to 225 kg, and a pack of 4 feet for a load of up to 300 kg. This choice allows the support to be matched to the weight of the electronic component or speaker to be decoupled.
This type of support is aimed at audiophiles and installers wishing to optimise the vibrational behaviour of their hi-fi system, particularly in configurations where the furniture or available space cannot accommodate decoupling feet of larger dimensions.
What to check before buying used
Check the flatness of the ceramics and that there is no cracking or flaking on the decoupling balls, as these determine the effectiveness of the suspension. Also check the condition of the support cups and the base: signs of impact, deformation or oxidation may indicate unsuitable storage. Make sure the pack offered (3 or 4 feet) is complete and matching, as elements from the same batch are not always interchangeable between series.
