Description
The Focal 100 IC6 ST is an in-ceiling speaker designed for residential installations. Its distinctive feature is its dual tweeter, which allows it to reproduce a stereo signal from a single installation point, without requiring two separate speakers on either side of the room.
This configuration relies on a pivoting inverted-dome aluminium tweeter, described as more compact and less directional, paired with a Polyglass diaphragm driver. A new crossover has been developed to favour off-axis listening and limit what Focal calls the "shower effect", meaning the sensation of sound falling vertically from the ceiling rather than spreading naturally throughout the room.
This speaker is aimed at those who wish to provide stereo sound for small to medium-sized spaces without multiplying installation points or visually cluttering the room: bedroom, kitchen, hallway, or even bathroom, this last location being mentioned as suitable for humid environments.
