Focal 300 ICW 4

The 300 ICW 4 is an in-wall speaker from Focal, designed to be built directly into a wall or ceiling. It can be used for stereo listening as well as within a home cinema installation, where it can handle the surround channels of a multichannel configuration such as 5.1, 7.1 or 5.1.2.

This 2-way separate speaker combines a 10 cm woofer/midrange with a Flax cone and an inverted dome tweeter in aluminium/magnesium alloy. The Flax cone, a technology unique to Focal, is based on a flax-fibre eco-textile: a linen fibre core is wrapped in two sheets of glass fibre, giving high rigidity for a reduced weight. This construction promotes a neutral and precise sound, particularly in the midrange, which highlights voices and dialogue.

Installation relies on the EQI (Easy Quick Install) system, which requires neither screws nor tools. The supplied frame fits walls and ceilings with a thickness of between 5 and 30 mm; its mounting clips hold the whole assembly in place. Once the frame is fitted, the speaker is inserted and locked with a quarter-turn. The finish can be chosen with a square or round grille, both supplied, magnetic for easy positioning and fitted with anti-vibration pads so as not to disturb the sound. These grilles, finished in white, are designed to be painted to blend into the décor.

This model is aimed at those who want discreet sound reproduction, without visible floor-standing or stand-mounted speakers, whether for a dedicated home cinema room or for music listening in stereo integrated into a room's architecture.
