Description
The Aria Evo X N°3 is a 3-way floorstanding speaker from Focal, designed with a bass-reflex loading and a compact floor footprint despite its height. It comprises three 16.5 cm woofers, a 16.5 cm midrange driver with TMD suspension and a 2.5 cm inverted dome tweeter using TAM technology, delivering sound reproduction spread across three distinct ways.
The woofers and midrange driver use the Flax cone, a sandwich of French flax fibre placed between two sheets of fibreglass: this light, rigid and damped structure aims for a neutral rendering of the midrange and precise attacks in the bass frequencies. The frequency response extends from 39 Hz to 30 kHz (± 3 dB), with a -6 dB response from 32 Hz, and the sensitivity of 92 dB for 1 W at 1 m indicates a speaker capable of delivering a high sound level for moderate amplification power. What to check before buying used
With this model, it is advisable to check the condition of the three woofers and the Flax cone midrange driver, in particular checking for any tearing or sagging of the cone and the proper behaviour of the suspension. Also check the TAM inverted dome tweeter, which is sensitive to impacts, as well as the condition of the magnetic fabric covers and the leather-effect front, which may show signs of wear over time.
