The Chora Surround is an effects speaker from Focal, intended to equip the side or rear channels of a Home Cinema installation. With a sealed, 2-way design, it complements a multichannel system to reproduce the ambient sounds surrounding the listener, alongside the main listening speakers.
It features a 16.5 cm Slatefiber woofer/midrange driver paired with a 25 mm inverted dome aluminium-magnesium tweeter, with a crossover frequency set at 3000 Hz. Its sensitivity of 89 dB (2.83V/1m) and nominal impedance of 8 ohms (4.5 ohms minimum) make it compatible with modestly powered amplifiers, with recommended power ranging from 25 to 100 W. Its frequency response extends from 80 Hz to 28 kHz at ±3 dB, with a low-end roll-off at 67 Hz (-6 dB), which suits it to working alongside a subwoofer rather than handling the bass register on its own.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is advisable to check the condition of the Slatefiber driver and the inverted dome tweeter, in particular for any tearing or denting on the diaphragms, as well as the integrity of the aluminium-magnesium dome, which is sensitive to impact. It is also worth checking the wall mount and the condition of the input connector, which are subject to wear from repeated handling during successive installations and removals.
