Focal Clear PRO Mg

The Clear PRO Mg is an open-back circum-aural headphone designed by Focal for professional studio use. It is aimed at sound engineers and producers who need a reliable monitoring tool capable of reproducing the signal accurately rather than flattering it.

These headphones feature 40 mm full-range drivers with inverted "M"-profile domes, fitted with a magnesium diaphragm. This material, combined with a 25 mm diameter, 5.5 mm high self-supporting copper voice coil, aims for accurate reproduction across the entire sound spectrum, with good tonal balance and total harmonic distortion below 0.25% at 1 kHz for 100 dB. Frequency response extends from 5 Hz to 28 kHz, impedance is 55 ohms and sensitivity reaches 104 dB / 1 mW.

The headband adopts a constant curvature regardless of head size, with weight distributed evenly to avoid any localised pressure point. The solid aluminium yoke, coated in a textured black finish, does away with the traditional vertical rotation mechanism, which has been moved into the headband to improve coupling under the ears and limit acoustic leakage. The perforated microfibre and 20 mm memory foam ear pads complete this comfort-oriented design, for a total weight of 450 g.

These headphones are aimed at anyone regularly working with sound in a controlled environment: mixing, mastering, sound recording or critical listening. Their open-back design makes them suited to studio use rather than mobile use, in a quiet environment where isolation is not a priority.
