Focal Dome Flax 5.1

The Dôme Flax 5.1 is a complete home cinema system manufactured in France, bringing together five Dôme Flax satellite speakers and a wireless Sub Air subwoofer. This pack forms a 5.1 configuration ready to receive an audiovisual set-up for the reproduction of films and multichannel content.

Each satellite is a sealed 2-way speaker fitted with a 10 cm woofer/midrange with a Flax cone, a composite flax-based membrane, paired with an aluminium-magnesium dome tweeter. This design aims for improved linearity in the frequency response, resulting in greater clarity on dialogue and a wider soundstage. The satellites offer a frequency response of 80 Hz to 28 kHz, a sensitivity of 88 dB and accept a power of 100 W with a high-pass filter set at 80 Hz minimum; their impedance is 8 ohms nominal and 4 ohms minimum.

The Sub Air subwoofer completes the set with no cable connection: it communicates via radio on the 2.4 GHz ISM band, with a stated range of 15 metres and a coding delay of 13 ms. It delivers a continuous output power of 110 W, a peak power of 150 W, for a -6 dB response of 35 Hz and a frequency response of 40 Hz to 200 Hz (+/- 3 dB). Its bass reflex enclosure and 21 cm driver are paired with a 0-180° inverted phase control and a variable crossover frequency of 50 Hz to 200 Hz, allowing integration with the satellites to be adjusted according to the room.

This 5.1 pack is intended for home cinema use in rooms of 30 to 40 m2, for a set-up seeking to limit cabling thanks to the wireless connection of the subwoofer while retaining a structured sound built around the five satellite channels.
