Focal Kanta Center

The Kanta Center is a 2-way centre speaker in a Bass-reflex format, designed by Focal to integrate into a multichannel Home Cinema system. It is intended to work alongside floorstanding speakers or the Kanta N°1 bookshelf speaker, whatever configuration is chosen at the front or rear of the installation.

Its frequency response extends from 55 Hz to 40 kHz (+- 3 dB), with a crossover frequency set at 2.4 kHz between the two drivers. The 27 mm pure Beryllium inverted dome tweeter, combined with IHL technology, handles the top of the spectrum, while two 16.5 cm Flax cone woofers, fitted with a TMD suspension and an NIC motor, cover the bass-midrange register. This architecture aims for precise mid-high definition, useful for dialogue intelligibility at the cinema. With a sensitivity of 91 dB at 1 kHz, a nominal impedance of 8 ohms (minimum 3.5 ohms) and a power handling of 200 W, it can be driven by common home cinema amplifiers without pushing them to their limits.

This model is aimed at Home Cinema enthusiasts looking for a centre speaker capable of maintaining the same level of performance at low as well as high volume. It fits into a multichannel installation where it can be paired with a subwoofer such as the Sub 1000F, or with ceiling speakers such as the 300 ICW 4 for Dolby Atmos, DTS X or Auro-3D configurations.
