Description
The On Wall 301 is a 2-way on-wall speaker from Focal, designed to fit around a television or complement a stereo setup. Its bass-reflex design and slim, bevelled profile allow it to be wall-mounted or placed on stands, in vertical or horizontal position.
It features two 100 mm midrange-bass drivers with Flax cone, a Focal technology made in France, paired with a 25 mm inverted dome TNF tweeter in aluminium-magnesium. With a frequency response of 53 Hz to 28 kHz (+/- 3 dB) and a sensitivity of 87 dB, it accepts a recommended power of 25 W to 130 W under a nominal impedance of 8 ohms.

What to check before buying used
On this on-wall model, check the condition of the rear mounting system and the sturdiness of the suspension plate, which bear the weight of the speaker once installed on the wall. Also check that the magnetic grille holder sits correctly in place and that the Flax cone of the midrange-bass drivers shows no deformation or signs of denting. A test at moderate volume allows any vibrations or unwanted noise at the tweeter or bass-reflex port to be identified.
