Focal Shape 50

The Shape 50 is a studio monitor from Focal, designed for near-field listening. It can be used from as little as 80 cm listening distance, a characteristic that suits it to small work spaces where the listener is necessarily close to the speakers, such as a home studio desk or a small mixing booth.

Its compact format does not prevent it from reaching down to 50 Hz in the bass, an extended frequency response for this type of size. This bass extension comes with a design and settings intended to suit rooms of less than 12 m², where low frequencies usually cause the most acoustic problems.

Made in France, the Shape 50 incorporates five innovations specific to the Shape line, geared towards improved acoustic transparency. When listening, this translates into a wide and precise stereo image, a bass that is both articulate and controlled, as well as a neutral low-mid and midrange, free from masking effects, which makes equalisation work easier in these registers that are usually tricky to correct. The tweeter, entirely redesigned, provides high definition and great precision in the treble.

This monitor is aimed at users working in the near field in modestly sized spaces: home studios, mixing booths, composition rooms or post-production suites where the listening distance remains short and the floor space limited.
