Description
The Sub 600P is an amplified subwoofer from Focal, designed for both hi-fi listening and Home Cinema systems. It complements an existing system by adding a bass register that the main speakers generally cannot reproduce on their own, reinforcing presence and sonic impact at low frequencies.
Its Class D amplifier delivers 600 watts of power and drives a 30 cm diameter driver fitted with a Polyflex cone. This cone, stiffer and heavier than a conventional one, is designed to better withstand high stress and maintain power handling over time. The subwoofer also features a sealed enclosure, a design that limits unwanted noise and aims for the most faithful signal reproduction possible, without excessive colouration.
In terms of finish, the Sub 600P comes with a black High Gloss front panel, a brushed MDF cabinet and a removable magnetic fabric grille. This combination allows it to blend discreetly into a living room or listening space while maintaining a refined appearance.

What to check before buying used
The magnetic fabric grille scratches or warps easily: check that it is included with the subwoofer and that it fits securely without moving on the front panel. A sealed enclosure does not tolerate any air leaks: check the seal of the rear panel and ensure there is no play around the driver. Inspect the Polyflex cone for deformation or signs of impact, and listen to check that the Class D amplifier delivers clean bass without hiss or unwanted cutting out at high power.
