Focal Theva N°3

The Theva N°3 is a 3-way Bass-reflex hi-fi floorstanding speaker, designed and manufactured in France by Focal. It is part of the Theva range, alongside other models in the same series intended to make up a stereo or home cinema system.

Its configuration combines two 16.5 cm woofers, a 16.5 cm midrange and a 2.5 cm inverted dome tweeter, all three fitted with the Slatefiber diaphragm, a technology unique to Focal made from non-woven recycled carbon fibres, oriented in a single direction to gain in rigidity and lightness. The aluminium/magnesium TNF tweeter uses a Poron suspension derived from the Utopia Beryllium tweeter, which divides distortion by three between 2000 Hz and 3000 Hz. Frequency response extends from 48 Hz to 28 kHz (± 3 dB), with a sensitivity of 91 dB (2.83 V/1 m) and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, for a recommended power of between 40 W and 250 W. The angled plinth contributes to the time alignment of the drivers, so as to stabilise the soundstage in front of the listener.
