Description
The Vestia N°4 is a 3-way floorstanding speaker from Focal, positioned as the most accomplished model in its range. It is built on a bass-reflex architecture with front and rear ports, designed to deliver deep bass while maintaining a soundstage with extended depth.
Its two 21 cm woofers and 16.5 cm midrange driver use the Slatefiber membrane, a Focal technology manufactured in France from non-woven recycled carbon fibres, aligned in a single direction and sandwiched between two layers of thermoplastic polymer: this process aims to combine rigidity, damping and lightness, three qualities sought after for a precise driver. The 25 mm TAM tweeter, with an inverted dome in Aluminium/Magnesium alloy and Focal's characteristic "M" profile, gains in rigidity to limit distortion and in dispersion angle, resulting in refined treble and comfortable listening over time. The angled feet implement Time Alignment, a layout designed to centre the soundstage on the listener. In terms of measurements, the 92 dB sensitivity and nominal impedance of 8 Ω (minimum 2.6 Ω) point to a recommended amplifier power between 40 and 350 W, with a stated frequency response from 40 Hz to 30 kHz and a low-frequency roll-off at 34 Hz.
Given its size and bass performance, the Vestia N°4 is suited to listening rooms from 25 m² upwards, for hi-fi or home cinema systems seeking a precise sound image and an extended frequency response. It can also be paired with a SUB 600P subwoofer to further reinforce the bass register.
Available in several finishes - black or white leather-effect front, Black High Gloss, Dark Wood or Light Wood side panels - it fits into a variety of interiors without compromising on aesthetics.

What to check before buying used
On a speaker of this size, it is worth checking the condition of the Slatefiber membranes on the woofers and midrange driver, as well as the surround at the edge of each driver, looking for tears, sagging or signs of moisture. The tweeter's inverted dome, being more exposed to impact at the front, deserves careful visual inspection. It is also useful to listen to the speaker at moderate volume across the full frequency range to detect any unwanted noise, buzz or distortion indicating a fault in one of the three drivers or in the internal crossover.
