The Fostex T50RP MKIII belongs to the RP series, a line of professional headphones developed by Fostex since 1977. It is an open-back headphone intended for studio use, designed to reproduce sound as faithfully as possible.
Its distinctive feature lies in the driver technology used, called RP Diaphragm, protected by more than twenty patents worldwide. It relies on a copper-coated metal sheet etched onto a polyimide film, itself integrated within a series of neodymium magnets. This flat, so-called planar structure differs from conventional dynamic transducers and provides higher sensitivity as well as a sound reproduction considered more natural and free of marked colouration, with ample bass that is not very prone to distortion.
The earcups feature an automatic adjustment system, designed to ensure stable fit and comfort suited to prolonged listening sessions, while isolating ambient noise.
