Description
The DESTAT III is a portable antistatic device by Furutech, designed to neutralise static charge and remove dust present on analogue and digital media as well as on components of an audio/video system. It is used by holding or placing the device near the surface to be treated, then pressing a button to start the treatment cycle.
Its operation relies on a fan that generates a balanced flow of ions: this flow neutralises the static charge accumulated on the treated surface while also removing dust. A complete treatment takes no more than around ten seconds, making it easy to incorporate into a listening or cleaning routine before use. The device has an internal rechargeable battery and can be operated with one hand, without any cable or external power supply during use. A safety system prevents any shock related to the ion flow generator.
The DESTAT III is aimed at vinyl, CD and DVD enthusiasts, as well as anyone wishing to reduce the nuisance caused by static electricity on their system: mains cables, interconnect cables, speaker cables, or metal record clamps for turntables.
